Maarten Steinkamp, CEO Europe, Sony BMG
Maarten Steinkamp is heading the Continental European division of SONY BMG, the biggest international division of the music entertainment company of Bertelsmann and Sony Corp. Operating in over 20 markets with fully owned companies and half a dozen licensees, his regional team overlooks all aspects of content creation, exploitation and facilitation as well as all new business developments like digital, TV, live/concert, branded entertainment and endorsements/sponsorships. Before taking the role of President Continental Europe in the merged entity of SONY and BMG (2004), Steinkamp was heading BMG International from New York, USA.
Other roles include EVP BMG Asia (Singapore/Hong Kong), VP/GM BMG UK (London)and MD BMG Netherlands and several international marketing positions. Steinkamp joined BMG/Bertelsmann in 1988 after a career in journalism.
