
As General Manager and Chief Media Officer of MSN, Greg Nelson leads the MSN Media Network, one of the world's most successful information and entertainment networks. Nelson leads global product and platform development, content and programming, business development, product management, marketing, and branded entertainment for MSN.
Prior to taking on the role of Chief Media Officer with global accountabilities, Nelson spent 3 years building MSN's market position in 42 countries and 27 languages outside of the United States. Under Greg's leadership MSN reinvigorated its investment in premium content and editorial programming. His focus on great customer experiences built on scalable platforms helped to propel MSN to assert a leadership position in many categories.
Since joining Microsoft in 1995, Nelson has held a number of roles in product development, business strategy, marketing, sales, and business development.
Before joining Microsoft, Nelson served as executive director of several non-profit organizations and worked briefly in government and consulting roles.
Nelson holds an MBA from Harvard University, a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Cape Town, and a BA from Seattle Pacific University. He lives in London with his wife and two daughters.
