
Bob Patchen is the Chief Research Officer and Senior Vice President at Arbitron Inc.. Arbitron is a leading supplier of media and marketing research to broadcasters, advertisers and agencies worldwide. He has over 25 years of applied experience in all aspects of survey research, both in the commercial and public sectors. Arbitron's Research Group manages a wide range of projects for Arbitron, including domestic and international research and development for the Portable People Meter (PPM) and Arbitron's Syndicated Radio diary service. Prior to joining Arbitron, Bob spent 9 years at Westat, Inc., where he worked on a wide variety of research contracts for the U.S. government. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he studied sociology and survey research methods.
