Mauricio Sabogal, CEO, OMD Latin America

Mauricio has dedicated more than 10 years of his career to marketing research, especially in the field of media, and more than 7 years developing media agency networks in Latin America.  He started his career in 1990 with AC Nielsen Colombia. Moving to Ecuador as General Manager, Mauricio was responsible for the foundation and organization of AC Nielsen Ecuador. In 1995, he was promoted to Commercial Manager, Media Research, Latin America, based in Mexico.

In 1999, Mauricio moved back to Colombia as VP for the Andean Region for MindShare, responsible for establishing Mindshare in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru. In 2002, he accepted the challenge of organizing the OMD network in Latin America as CEO of the region.  During the following three years, OMD moved from being ranked 7th to become one of the top 3 largest companies in the region, expanding rapidly from 7 to 19 countries and the consolidation of essential markets such as Mexico, Chile and Colombia, plus the inclusion of more than 120 new accounts across the region. In addition, under Mauricio's direction, OMD Latin America became the most awarded media agency in Media creativity in 2003, retaining this title for the past 3 years. In addition, OMD Latin America has received the prestigious Grand Prix, 7 Gold Lions and 10 short list nominations at Cannes festival plus many gold, silver and bronze awards in regional and local festivals including Fiap, Ojo de Iberoamerica and El Sol is Spain.
