ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The inaugural Venice Festival of Media will bring together over 400 delegates representing the world's advertisers, media agency networks, content developers and media owners.  A truly global event, the Festival will examine those issues at the forefront of the agendas of all those involved in the creation, buying and selling of pan regional and global advertising communications.

The Festival comprises three key elements:

The Conference:  A two day programme of presentations and panel debates providing delegates with the opportunity to hear global advertiser viewpoints and learn more of the future strategies of the CEOs of all the global agency networks and key international media owners.  Panel discussions will examine the future of media communication, the agency model, the power of branded content and the challenges facing media research.  As well as the plenary agenda, there will be break-out workshops focusing in more detail on branded content, emerging media markets, music in advertising and the consumer viewpoint on ambient and guerrilla marketing approaches.  The conference will take place at the Palazzo del Cinema on Venice Lido, which at another time of year hosts the Venice Film Festival.

The Media Laboratory: Also at the Palazzo del Cinema and running alongside the Venice Festival Conference, the Media Laboratory is a two day exhibition allowing delegates to learn more about and interact with developing media opportunities.  Activities in the Media Laboratory include the Isobar Digital Gallery and the Massive Gaming Lounge, whilst other exhibitors include the C Squared Communications, the Discovery Channel, Eurosport, Euronews, Inviseo Media, JCDecaux, Metro International, New Visions and the Festival's founding sponsor, Yahoo!

Networking events: As well as the multiple informal networking opportunities that such a Festival always provides and which the beautiful city of Venice is admirably well suited to, all delegates are invited to attend two official networking functions.  A Welome Reception will take place at the Cipriani Hotel on the Sunday evening before the launch of the conference and the whole event will conclude with a Gala Dinner on the final evening, Tuesday 17th April, at the Westin Excelsior Hotel.  In addition, the Festival is delighted to announce the “Would Like To Meet" function of its WAP site (www.venice-festival.mobi) which will enable delegates to text new contacts and suggest a meeting.

The Venice Festival of Media is the first global event to focus purely on creative media strategies – at a time when creativity in media content, communication, planning, buying and selling is the differentiator between advertising and business strategy.  The industry's enthusiasm for the event promises to make it a must attend in the calendar of all senior international advertising and media directors.
