The first Venice Festival of Media  was greeted with immense enthusiasm and support from the international media industry.  The organisers are delighted to have received an overwhelming number of messages from speakers, sponsors and delegates welcoming the event on to the global media industry's calendar and promising future support to build the Festival as a must-attend event.

Over 420 senior executives attended, representing international marketers, global media agencies, established media owners and newer players in the media space.  The delegates applauded a succession of presentations from those at the forefront of the key debates within global media – speakers focused on how to develop greater creativity in media strategy, how to exploit and develop new opportunities for interacting and communicating with consumers on multiple levels, how to demonstrate and improve the ROI on media investment, how to harness content to media strategy and how the shape of the industry – the nature of the relationships between clients, agencies and media owners – should continue to evolve.

A true Festival more than just a conference, the event also presented opportunities for delegates to engage with interactive exhibitions and to network with their peers, at a series of formal and less formal social functions which truly exploited the beauty of the host City and the fantastic weather that we enjoyed during our time in Venice.

The  first Venice Festival of Media met its objective of creating an environment and an agenda to foster and develop a positive creative energy within the international media industry, recognising the growing importance of media strategy at the forefront of all advertising and communication.  The organisers look forward to working with the industry to create an even stronger event programme for 2008 – watch this space for our imminent announcement of the 2008 dates.
